Keshi deserves to go – Chukwu

Former Super Eagles coach, Christian Chukwu has said that the decision by the Nigeria Football Federation to sack national team coach Stephen Keshi was in order, if the tactician was found to have applied for the Ivory Coast job while in contract with Nigeria.
Chukwu who was reacting to the news of Keshi’s sack said to have applied for the Ivory Coast job, Keshi did not show any sense of commitment to the job he had on hand.

‘’You don’t do that,’’ Chukwu started, adding, ‘’it shows clearly that he was not serious with the Eagles job.

Indeed, it is a clear disregard for his employers and lack of commitment to his job.

‘’When you have a subsisting contract, you are bound by the terms and don’t need to apply for another job. Once you do that it either shows some kind of discontent with your present employment or you don’t respect your employers. You don’t do that and expect a pat on the back from your employers,’’ he concluded.

He approved of the interim arrangement which has seen Coach Shaibu Amodu back in the saddle albeit on a temporary basis. ‘’There should be no vacuum. Someone has to take charge,’’ Chukwu said.
