Source Blackbox Nigeria

BlackBox Nigeria have uncovered the unprofessional and unethical activities of a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Education of Lagos state university who it was discovered collects N100 (One Hundred Naira) from her students after each lecture.

Mrs Magaret Isaac Philips, a lecturer in the Department of Educational management, it was learnt makes it compulsory for her students to pay for what she calls "refreshment levy" at the end of each lecture period. BlackBox Nigeria further learned that failure to pay this outrageous token means the "stubborn" student would be penned down for mark deduction or even an outright failure of her course.

Investigating further, it was uncovered that Mrs. Philips is quite reputed for her corrupt ways as sources reveal that to pass her examination, one simply needs to pay a sum ranging from N1,500 to N5000.
It was further made known to BlackBox Nigeria that this act has been going on for a while now which is not unknown to the authorities of the Faculty of Education in LASU.

A source revealed that after being warned by senior colleagues to desist from acts of corruption which she ignored, she might soon be made to face a panel.
"I cannot categorically confirm if she collects money from students after lectures but what I know for sure is that she does runz (illicit dealings) during exams and she charges about N2000 or more", a final year student of the faculty of education disclosed to BlackBox Nigeria.

A recent graduate of the faculty who was also an executive of the student union spoke to BlackBox Nigeria under the condition of anonymity disclosing that "the woman has always been corrupt, it is an open secret in the faculty. Even other lecturers are aware but she has remained adamant over the years."

According to one of her students who spoke with BlackBox Nigeria, "I have always heard about this story that she collects money from students. However, the only time she asked us for money, it was refunded. The HOC (a girl named Wunmi) collected N100 from us but it was refunded later on".

Mrs. Philips ironically teaches two major courses in the department which are EDM 419(Education Policy) and EDM 216(Administrative Theory)

The school and faculty management was not available for comments but the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State University Student Union, Adekola Dayo declined to make any comment saying he would like to make findings from students about the allegations before speaking on the matter.
